The House of Muses is an accessories label that began in 2003. We started as a fashion styling team designing custom fashion pieces for photoshoots, and dance performances. After producing several editorial spreads, we had a trunk full of wild props and accessories. The success of our portfolios, and growing collection prompted us to enter a runway competition sponsored by Trace Magazine. It was there that the company made its debut; showing handmade shoes and handbags and customized vintage clothing.
Who are the Muses?
Lea Muses was born in the Netherlands into a family of artisans and inventors. She began her fashion career at 13 as a model. While landing campaigns for Apple's Ipod and several other mainstream advertisements, she studied design and traveled to the major fashion capitals for modeling. In her travels she became inspired to make accessories. She is the head designer,CEO and the face of the company. The House of Muses was founded by Lea Muses in 2004. read more on leamuses.com
Ramon Baynes and Lea Muses were teenage friends that grew up dancing and performing together in Boston. Ramon, a dance prodigy, was heavily sought after by the prestigious Alvin Ailey School of Dance. He is now a world renowned choreographer and wardrobe stylist. You may recognize him touring with pop artists Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Cassie and the like. He is currently working in Tokyo, Los Angeles and New York City.
Piper Carter originally from Michigan, began her career as a photographer while assisting world famous fashion photographer Steven Klein and working at Vogue Magazine. Piper is most recently recognized from The VH1 Tv Show "The Shot". Lea Muses and Piper met while attending art school at The Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. The two have been shooting together ever since.
